2026 Issues Community Conference
The 37th annual Issues Community Conference will be held Wednesday March 4, 2026 at Wasatch High School Auditorium from 6:30-8:00 pm. We are pleased to announce a new conference format this year. Instead of offering breakout workshops, the shorter conference will simply feature two keynote presenters with powerful messages to share.
To begin, First Lady of Utah, Abby Cox will present her “Show Up” Initiative. Show Up encourages people to reach out where they are--to lift others, give support and be willing to appreciate and learn from different points of view. In a divisive world, we “Show Up” by fostering connection and solidarity. The First Lady’s message inspires us all to replace prejudice and animosity with empathy and understanding.
Motivational speaker Braxten Nielsen will be the second speaker of the night. Braxten shares his personal story of triumph over tragedy in his presentation “We Were Born to Succeed. ”Braxten continues to fight his way back to doing what he loves after a devastating injury gave him a 5% chance of ever walking again. Braxten’s positive attitude and love of life will leave an unforgettable impression on everyone who hears his message.
The Issues Community Conference is produced by Wasatch County Parks & Recreation, the Wasatch County Health Department, Wasatch Behavioral Health and the Wasatch School District. Generous sponsors include the Heber Valley Medical Center and the Wasatch Community Foundation.
The conference is free to attend for everyone 11 years and older. WHS auditorium doors open at 6:00 pm, and the conference will begin at 6:30pm.Attendance credit will be available for high school students, with additional credit available if they bring a parent along.
